Candidate for the position of Faculty Rep Science
Make the faculty work for YOU.
Hi! I’m Andrew and I am currently a second-year chemistry with drug discovery student. I am also currently a class rep and the campaigns manager of the LGBT+ society. I have been very actively involved with events in all societies I am in such as bake sales and performances in the musical theatre society and making and promoting cocktails for the LGBT+ society. I have worked with my peers on my course to help to address any concerns they have had about the way the course is run or about any assessments and have discussed any concerns with lecturers on behalf of my peers.
In being the science faculty rep, I will:
- Campaign to have staff update students on what actions have been taken on any feedback provided throughout the course
- Push to get lectures voice recorded to aid disabled or absent students
- Campaign for assessment and coursework feedback to be given out quicker and have any delay publicised
- Work to ensure rooms are fit to lecture (i.e. projector working etc)
- Campaign to invest more in undergraduate labs
- Kick start communication between lecturers on subject matters
- Work towards more tutorial time throughout semester
