Faculty Rep Business

Faculty Reps represent students’ views and interests at faculty-wide meetings and committees. They support the class reps in their faculty and act as a link between class reps, University staff and the Union. They will be engaged and involved in the Union’s education campaigns and events. Honorarium of £1000 (paid in instalments)

LGBT+ Rep

LGBT+ Rep promotes inclusivity on campus, is a spokesperson for all students that define as LGBT+. The Rep sits on the Strathclyde Students’ Union Equality and Diversity Committee. The LGBT+ Rep directly reports to the Vice President Inclusion and works closely together with the Student Exec and the LGBTplus society on campaigns concerning LGBTplus students. The Rep must self-define as an LGBTplus student enrolled at Strathclyde University. Honorarium of £600 (paid in instalments)

Postgraduate Students' Rep

The Postgraduate Students’ Rep promotes inclusivity on campus and is a spokesperson for all students that define as Postgraduate students. The Rep sits on the Strathclyde Students’ Union Welfare and Educations Committees. The Rep directly reports to the Vice President Welfare and works with the rest of the Student Exec and the postgraduate society on campaigns concerning postgraduate students. The Rep must be a postgraduate student and will receive an honorarium of £600 (paid in instalments).

This role will:

  1. Represent the voice of postgraduate students within the Union.
  2. Identify issues relevant to postgraduate students.
  3. Canvass postgraduate students’ opinion to be aware of common problems and concerns and where these exist ensure that Union Executive Committee/ Student Parliament are made aware of these.
  4. Run campaigns related to postgraduate student issues.
  5. Ensure that the needs of postgraduate students are reflected through the activities of the Union.
  6. Attend all relevant training, conferences and conventions that are relevant to the remit of this position.

NUS Scotland Conference Delegate (9 places)

These elected delegates represent Strathclyde Students at the annual NUS Scotland Conference. This is a democratic body of the National Union of Students, where regional policy is set, governance is amended and the next leaders of the student movement are elected. You must be available to attend conference between 19th-20th March 2020.

NUS UK Conference Delegate (6 places)

These elected delegates represent Strathclyde students at the annual NUS National Conference. This is the main democratic body of the National Union of Students, where national policy is set, governance is amended and the next leaders of the student movement are elected. You must be available to attend conference on Tue 31st Mar - Thu 2nd Apr 2020 in Liverpool. Strath Union will cover transport and accommodation costs.
