Listed by No.1 Befriending Agency
We have an exciting project opportunity for a talented service co-ordinator to support an innovative pilot project bringing together our care and befriending services to support unpaid carers.
The No.1 Befriending Agency is a vibrant local social enterprise that works to reduce loneliness and isolation. Part of how we do this is to ensure that older people can thrive in later life. We work with our dedicated volunteers to provide the support that local older people need to live happy, healthy lives. We work to help older people stay connected with their communities, alleviating loneliness, improving health and wellbeing and making communities stronger through volunteering.
Our Carers Connections pilot project will offer carers opportunities to make connections by attending weekly group befriending sessions called “Cup of Friendship”. For this project, our qualified, paid carers will visit someone for 3 hours a week so their carer (usually a family member) can have a break from their caring role, meet new people, learn new skills, participate with heritage, arts and crafts, music, wellbeing and other social activities.
The Service Co-ordinator will work across the care and befriending departments to deliver the project successfully. In this role, the successful candidate will perform a vital function in developing and delivering the project. The role also includes helping people get connected and learn to use digital platforms.
Flexibility combined with strong organisational skills and good prioritisation abilities are key to success in this role.
