Strath Union Takes on Award Season

Strath Union has been sweeping the board this award season, with nominations in this year’s Best Bar None National Awards and NUS Scotland Awards.

Celebrating  the nation’s bars, nightclubs and licensed premises who go the extra mile to promote responsible drinking and customer safety; Strathclyde will be competing with Stirling Students’ Union; Queen Margaret Union, Smiths – in West Lothian; and Kilmarnock’s WG13 in the Specialist Entertainment Venue category in the Best Bar None Scotland Awards.

Strath Union are also nominated in the University Students’ Association and Officer Team of the Year in the NUS Scotland Awards. Commercial Manager – and legendary DJ – Phil Reavey, is also in the category of Staff Member of the Year, celebrating the remarkable staff that have empowered students.

Strath Union CEO, Manish Joshi, said: “Everyone at Strath Union is delighted to receive nominations from NUS Scotland and Best Bar None. Every year, we’re always looking at ways on building on the great work we do, and it’s amazing to see that it’s being recognised by two prestigious organisations.

“These awards highlight that the students’ needs are at the forefront of the work that we do. We’re always looking at ways to improve our venues and the student experience and with the Student Elections currently happening on campus, just watch this space!”
