Volunteer Fundraiser (Bucket Collections)

Join us at this year's World Pipe Band Championships at Glasgow Green in August and help raise funds to ensure Glasgow Life and RSPBA can support people to experience and enjoy live traditional Scottish music from events and concerts to trial sessions and family ceilidhs and raise funds for our music programmes. Two days of competition showcases the extraordinary ability of 8000 pipers and drummers taking part. Defending champions Field Marshal Montgomery will face bands from around the World as they compete to hang on to their crown. Money will be collected via bucket collections from visitors to the championships, as well as through contactless donations. You’ll be supported the whole day by staff from the Development Team to answer any questions. Volunteers will remain in pairs at all times and are asked to: •Help with fundraising by using bucket collections and brand new contactless terminals. •Stand/ Sit/ Walk at allocated area with a collecting bucket – you may be required to be on your feet for your entire shift/session •Be polite and say thank you to everyone who donates •Do your best to answer questions the public may have about their donation – use your ID badge as a prompt Benefits & Perks •Make a real difference in your local community by generating funding for local projects •Full support and training provided •Opportunity to meet like-minded people and make new friends •Travel expenses up to £5 •Receive a goody bag including a water bottle Skills required: Friendly and welcoming at all times Able to create a great impression with everyone Able to stay happy and enthusiastic on the day, a smile goes a long way!
