TUSK welcomes you to our Freshers Come & Try event! Join us at 7pm on Friday 19th September at Strath Sport for a taster session of Kendo (剣道) - the Way of the Sword.
Kendo is a modern Japanese sword-based martial art, descended from the techniques used by the samurai in ancient Japan. It has since evolved into a highly respected and competitive martial art.
It emphasises technique and discipline over strength. Every strike is meaningful, and every session is a chance to learn and push your limits.
Kendo is suitable for people of all ages and experience, providing lots of benefits:
- Physical fitness
- Self-descipline and respect
- Stress relief
- Continuous development
If you are interested in starting your Kendo journey, or just want to see what it's all about, join us for a FREE Come and Try session! All equipment for the session will be provided, so just bring yourself (and a friend)! We reccomend wearing whatever exercise clothing you feel comfortable in that allows you to move freely, and a change of clothes for after the session. We will be meeting in the foyer/outside the front of Strathclyde Sport for 7pm to head through to the changing rooms before starting the session in the Dance Studio at 7:15pm.
After the session finishes at 9:15 we will be heading to The Howgait where we have tables booked to enjoy a drink and start the weekend! We'd love to see you there!
