The Strath Union building

Participation Fund

If you are struggling to afford to get involved with a Strathclyde Students' Union or University of Strathclyde activity (such as a society, sport or volunteering opportunity), and meet the relevant criteria, then you can apply to our Participation Fund for support.

If at any point you need to quickly leave one of our advice pages, you can hit escape to return to the landing page.

Apply for funding to take part in Union or University Activities

The fund is designed to assist current registered students meeting defined eligibility criteria to aid with the costs of participating in activities run by or in conjunction with the Union or the University in order to enrich the student experience and enhance engagement.

The fund will consider applications for financial contribution towards activities that enhance the student’s experience or development, but are not essential parts of their course.

It is vital that you read the Application Guidance prior to applying and ensure that you have provided all requested application information and evidence. Please ensure that you read the application guidance before submitting your application. Applications are considered on a first come, first served basis and as such the Fund may be closed when the funding allocation is exhausted. Students are encouraged to submit applications in advance of any activity they wish to participate in and at the earliest opportunity.  For any questions, please contact strathunion.advice@strath.ac.uk

Application Guidance

The application form can downloaded below. Once you have completed it, please submit along with your supporting evidence of your eligibility and the cost of the activity to strathunion.advice@strath.ac.uk. Please note that our turnaround time on applications is 10 working days.
