Sports Participation Assistant
The Sports Participation Assistant will support the Sport Development Coordinator with the social and recreational sport programme of sessions and events.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the organisational delivery and evaluation of the sports participation workstream such as StrathACTIVE and Intramural Sport, through regular and one-off sports participation sessions and events throughout the academic year.
- Lead a team of volunteers that are part of the sports participation programme, with tasks including setting volunteer rotas, assisting with training & skills development and ensuring quality session delivery.
- Build a strong relationship with internal stakeholders, such as Strath Union and relevant departments within the University of Strathclyde.
- Aid the development and progression of sports participation programmes by undertaking reviews and collating feedback to showcase in testimonials and reports.
- Assist with our marketing workstreams by contributing to digital marketing tasks such as social media posts for events and campaigns.
- Act as front-facing reception cover in the office as well as managing the central Sports Union email and phone line for routine enquiries from students or sports club members, providing high standards of customer care.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the managing staff.

Sports Competition Assistant
The Sports Competition Assistant will support the Sport Programme Coordinator with key fixture and competition administration tasks covering all sports clubs entered in BUCS/SSS competitions.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the collation of BUCS/SSS fixtures and results on a weekly basis.
- Ensure the accuracy of fixtures and results across internal and external platforms.
- Provide teams support with logistics when required.
- Help to ensure BUCS/SSS entries are submitted within deadlines for individual/team competitions and events.
- Ensure you have sound knowledge of the general and sport specific BUCS/SSS rules & regulations.
- Assist in creating marketing materials related to competitions to be published via various social media platforms on a weekly basis.

Sports Operations Assistant
The Sports Operations Assistant will support the Sport Union Coordinator with core sports administration particularly focussed on general customer service, finance and transport.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as front-facing reception cover in the office as well as managing the central Sports Union email and phone line for routine enquiries from students or sports club members, providing high standards of customer care.
- Assist with our finance workstream, by liaising with committee members, finance officer and Strath Union finance staff to monitor and maintain healthy financial accounts for sports clubs by producing balance statements.
- Work closely with sports club committees on the process of applying to, spending and reporting of Alumni Fund grants.
- Assist with our transport workstream by leading on the processing of student drivers by coordinating online assessments, conducting license checks (in accordance with the Transport Policy) and maintenance of a driver database.
- Help deal with various elements of club administration and deadlines such as GMs, committee training, membership sales, etc.
- Take on desk research assigned by line manager to support the ongoing development of student sport programmes within the Sports Union and across the University.
