We are a national championship winning Cheerleading club. With competitive and performance teams in Pom dance, Cheer Stunt and Hip-Hop as well as a Varsity team which performs at public events, there really is something for everyone. We welcome any level of experience, whether you’re an All-star or you have never cheered before!

If you enjoy cheer, dance, or gymnastics-based fitness training, learning award winning routines and new skills, making lifelong friends and attending fun socials, then Strath Warriors is for you.

Being involved in the local community is also very important to us and we have a strong focus on charity work through a variety of fundraising and volunteering events.

Our range of teams also allows flexibility for duration of study; if you’re only here for one semester, you can still join us! Being a student run club, we choreograph and teach ourselves all the skills required creating a fun and friendly learning environment: you won’t even realise you’re exercising. We cover a range of skills, from dance, jumps, stunts and tumbles as well as more technical dance-based spins. We encourage everyone to come and try, no matter your gender or experience as we guarantee you will find a type of cheer that suits you!

Any questions? Ask away, contact details to reach student committee members can be found on the email link on this page or find us on our social media channels to message us directly.

2020 Sports Fair: Club Sign Up

Are you interested in joining Strath Cheerleading? Or what about other clubs within the Sports Union? Register your interest during the Virtual Sports Fair and sign-up to clubs below:

Membership – what do I need?

1. Sports Union Membership – this is a flat £30 fee for the year (or £23 for one semester) which goes directly back to the club to fund various club activities and operations, including:

  • Personal accident and public liability insurance
  • Coaching fees, competition entry and transport costs, club equipment and external facility hire

2. Sports Club Bolt-on Fee – we also charge a joining fee for the year (£35 for competitive team or £15 semester only) which is charged to subsidise additional sport specific costs such as buying and maintaining equipment. This fee is charged on top of the Sports Union membership and again, goes directly back to the club and participants taking part in our activities.

3. Facility Access – as we train in the University’s £31m Strathclyde Sport facility, a pay-as-you-go facility fee of £3 is charged to access each session. However, if you are a member of Strathclyde Sport gym you do not need to pay this fee and can access for free. To join Strathclyde Sport please visit the University website here.
