Welcome to the University of Strathclyde Curling Club!

Strath Curl meets most Wednesdays throughout the term at Lanarkshire Ice Rink in Hamilton at 2:30 for a mix of training drills led by our qualified coaches and friendly practice games. All equipment is provided but you are required to bring clean, flat shoes and warm, comfy clothes. Players of all abilities are more than welcome to join the fun and take part in one of Scotland's national sports. Please note, that we will be taking steps to ensure that all club equipment is sanitised between uses and only used by one person per session.

If you're looking for something a bit more competitive then you're in luck. We participate in a range of competitions for all levels. Beginners can also take part in friendly games against other local clubs. More serious players can throw their hat into the ring for the SSS Curling League, which is where we play against other universities across the country. The highlight of the year is our weekend trip to the SSS Open held in Stranraer every April. Strathclyde are the reigning champions are we're looking forward to another huge year on the ice.

Please note that due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation we are suspending our usual socials at Revolution, but we’ll be looking at ways to create fun and inclusive socials in line with guidelines. We’ll hopefully get back to our “spiritual” home soon enough, but in the interim, we’ll do our best to keep you entertained. Our competition schedule might also vary somewhat this year, but our committee will do their very best to keep you in the loop.

We will be getting the train to Hamilton from Glasgow Queen Street around 12.55, which usually costs about £4 for a return (or £2.60 with a rail card). Why not drop us a message on our social media pages and get in touch with other students also making the journey.

Any other questions? Ask away, contact details to reach student committee members can be found on the email link on this page or find us on our social media channels to message us directly.
