About Us

Strathclyde University Lacrosse Club is a close-knit mixed club who love playing and socialising together.  We welcome anyone, regardless of whether you're a total beginner wanting to give the sport a go or have played for years!

The club has one Women's Team and one Men's Team. Our Women's Team play in the BUCS Scottish 2A league and our Men's Team play in the BUCS Scottish 1st League. We also play friendlies and mixed men's/women's tournaments against other Scottish Uni teams throughout the year. The club is made up of members of all abilities – a lot of our players started off as beginners in their first year of Uni and have progressed through their University career through training, playing in matches and attending development days.

StrathLax are really inclusive and welcoming to all new members, whether you've never picked up a stick before or are a seasoned pro! You don't have to play matches to join the club, we often have social members who dip in and out of trainings as they like.

We train twice per week (Monday and Thursday evenings) at Stepps Playing Fields in Glasgow. We have one coach-led session per week and one stick skills session. We travel together on the train from Uni to training. Our training sessions are a mixture of men's and women's individual team sessions and mixed sessions.

Matches take place on Wednesday afternoons against other University teams in each team's respective league. Home matches take place at Stepps Playing Fields in Glasgow.

The team have complementary Match Teas on Wednesdays after matches at our sponsor bar. We also host weekly themed socials which are a mixture of nights out and more relaxed socials such as potlucks and movie nights. We host more formal socials every few months, usually on a Saturday night, as well as attending SU Sports events such as Sports Ball.
