Welcome to the University of Strathclyde Surf Club!

StrathSurf is one of the largest sports club on campus.  We welcome all participants, ranging from beginners to advanced surfers, so there is no reason to not come along and have the best weekend of your life.

Our enthusiastic committee will pass on their knowledge and give you lessons to get you happy with paddling on the board, popping up and catching your first wave! On the trips, we give you everything you need; surfboards, wetsuits, gloves and booties! The weekend trips are a great chance to chill at the beach, spend hours in the water and have the best nights of games and music! We mostly surf in Machrihanish on the West Coast but recently we have been spicing it up with trips to St Andrews!

Along with monthly trips, we have weekly socials adding more nights you don’t want to miss! You’ll have a tonne of fun getting dressed up to some wacky themes, sharing stories and having a laugh about your first surfing experiences. We end our busy calendar with an all out belter of a trip in the summer. Previous years have been in France and Spain so be sure to be ready to book as spaces go fast. It will be the best end of year experience you’ll ever have – guaranteed.

Hope to see you surfing this year! #onemorewave

Membership – what do I need?

1. Sports Union Membership – this is a flat £36 fee for the year (or £23 for one semester) which goes directly back to the club to fund various club activities and operations, including:

  • Personal accident and public liability insurance

2. Sports Club Bolt-on Fee – we also charge a £5 joining fee for the year which is charged to subsidise additional sport specific costs, such as maintenance of equipment.
