Swimming & Water Polo

Welcome to the University of Strathclyde Swimming and Water Polo Club!

The Swimming and Water Polo Club allows members to take part in both sports as new or more experienced players/swimmers with a minimum level of basic swimming.

For swimming, we aim to train on Monday mornings and Tuesday and Thursday evenings* and the training is split into different abilities to allow people to train within their own ability.

Water polo training is due take place on Monday and Friday nights.* Water polo is open to all levels whether you are new to the sport or a more experienced player. Both sports hold their matches on Wednesday afternoons at Strathclyde Sport which are always great to go along to watch and support when possible.

We also have a great social side to the team with our socials generally being held on Wednesday nights-definitely not something to be missed!

Any questions? Ask away, contact details to reach student committee members can be found on the email link on this page or find us on our social media channels to message us directly.

Membership – what do I need?

1. Sports Union Membership – this is a flat £30 fee for the year (or £23 for one semester) which goes directly back to the club to fund various club activities and operations, including:

  • Personal accident and public liability insurance

2. Sports Club Bolt-on Fee – we also charge a £45 joining fee for the year (or £25 semester only) which is charged to subsidise additional sport specific costs, such as use of club equipment and coaches.
