Welcome to Strathclyde Chess Club!!

We host regular socials on Mondays, from 7pm onwards at Bar Home. Check our Instagram for updates on this.

If you want to join the best thing to do would be to turn up and meet everyone. You don't need a membership to come to the socials

If you're interested in competing and representing Strathclyde in the leagues, you don't have to have a crazy high rating! anyone with a rating over 1000 would likely get to play in some matches if they wish

The Strathclyde Chess Society was founded in 2015 and has been an active society with a variety of events ever since! We won the 2017-18 Glasgow Chess League title in our division. In 2023 and 2024 we won both the Glasgow and Dumbartonshire leagues. We are now in the 1st division for both. We also won the Jack Campbell Rosebowl Cup, (Scottish wide comp) in 2023 and 2024.
