Complaints, Discipline and Fitness to Practice

Unfortunately, sometimes things don't go right. It may be that you're unhappy with an aspect of your course, concerned about the way a member of staff or another student has behaved towards you, or maybe the University has failed to follow procedures or failed to provide a service that it advertises.

If at any point you need to quickly leave one of our advice pages, you can hit escape to return to the landing page.

If you wish to make a complaint about the University of a member of staff, then the University's Complaints Handling Procedure is the right policy for you to follow. If you wish to raise a complaint about another student, then you should look at the Dignity and Respect Procedure. There's more information on this on the Complaints Page.

If you have allegedly breached the University's regulations in some way, then the University may undertake a Student Discipline Procedure against you. There's lots more information about this on the Student Disciplines page.

Strath Union has its own complaints procedure - you can find out more about this here.

Whatever's happened and whatever you'd like to do next, Advice Hub advisers can discuss the situation with you and help to figure out the best way forward.
