Rate

£9.50 per hour.

Hours

Minimum of 6 hours per week up to a maximum of 10 hours per week (Days/times are flexible)

Interview

Interviews will be held on Thursday 11th November 2021 (via Zoom if preferred) with a view to an immediate start.

Details

Strath Union is looking to recruit a confident, hardworking and self-motivated individual to join the finance team. As Finance Office Assistant you will work closely with the Finance Assistant and Senior Finance Assistant to provide administrative and finance based support within Strath Union. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, be a problem solver and enjoy working with people. They will work well as part of a team and under their own initiative.

The Finance Office Assistant will work on the accounts system Xero (no previous experience of Xero is necessary) to help keep the busy finance department up to speed supporting students and the organisation. Duties will include:

  • Document Scanning    
  • Inputting purchase invoices to Xero
  • Inputting petty cash income and expenditure to Xero
  • Petty cash counting and update petty cash spreadsheet, checking and correcting any discrepancies to ensure balance and cash count matches daily
  • Request Change from our bank when required
  • Daily checking of the finance mailbox and updating Xero with Clubs & Societies bank payments daily
  • Shredding of old/out of date paperwork
