About me

Hi everyone, I'm Callum, your new Activities President. I am in the middle of my Mathematics with Teaching undergrad but knew this was the best time for me to make a start in this role at the Union as I knew I wanted to make a difference and try to make it now.

I have been a part of SMTS (Musical Theatre Society), Re-Act (Theatre Society) and SUDC (Dance Sports Club), so far and have been on the committee for all 3, if you couldn't tell by that I love performing. Away from the Uni and the Union, I'm a massive Arsenal fan so you'll likely catch me on The Terrace catching a fair few games throughout the season.

My job is to support all the students here and make sure that everyone can be a part of the Union and all its societies and activities, so if you see me, come say hi as 90% of the time, I'm down for a chat. If not, shoot me a message on my socials or send me an email and I'll try to respond quickly.

My manifesto

1. Visibility

   • Increase visibility of Societies Exec
   • Support society and volunteering campaigning and fundraising
   • Openly work closely with the other Presidents to host collaborative events
   • Use social media to show what I will be doing

2. Societies

   • Society spotlight – similar to the Sports Union Instagram but focused on societies
   • Maintain the Arts and Culture Fund
   • Encourage inter-society collaborative events
   • Attempt to formalise/create a resource for ball planning

3. Opportunities and Outreach

   • Increase visibility and awareness of Action Groups
   • Highlight JobShop and aim to promote other employability methods
   • Host drop-in sessions to allow people to discuss anything that relates to them and my role as Union Officer
