Strath Union is an organisation dedicated to supporting students throughout their years at university and beyond.

Welcome Team

This opportunity takes place between 06 Sep 2022 and 18 Sep 2022 Applications closed on 08 Sep.

The Welcome Team is made up of a diverse group of current students from all faculties and years who encourage new and returning students to get involved with Freshers' Week. This amazing Team is responsible for setting up fairs, distributing essential information, offering campus tours and making Strath as welcoming as possible. Volunteers will need to have basic knowledge of the University and be approachable, friendly and enthusiastic.

It is our hope that Freshers Week 2022 will be all in person (with a few inportant exceptions) and it will be a return to normality for all of us - but that will all very much depend on govertnment guidance at the time.  Regardless  we will still have loads of new students to welcome and hopefully a proper freshers for those students who started in the past couple of years who didn't get the  in-person eperence they deserve. In addition to helping students move in, handing out goody bags, answering questions and supporting events, you might be thelping us brainstorm ways to engage with new students, help us set up fairs, do campus tours and above all else just having lots of fun and making new friends

Your volunteering will be fully flexible to fit around your studies, work and other commitments - you can take part in as many or few volunteering shifts as you are able to! We do ask that you make a minimum commitment of 4 hours per week (one event or shift at halls of residence). You will always be volunteering with at least one other person and as always, we provide you with a team uniform (the iconic pink T-shirts)!

All you need to take part is enthusiasm for helping new students. If that's you, register your interest now!
