Meet new people, be part of a team and volunteer to lead exciting, inspiring activities that show girls in your area they can do anything. We offer our volunteers great training and support, including first aid, leadership and basic book-keeping.

We are looking for volunteers in Glasgow to give girls a space to discover their potential. You can be involved flexibly in a way that works for you.

We have Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers meeting each evening of the week.

Are you enthusiastic about giving girls opportunities for fun, friendship, challenge and adventure? If the answer is yes, then you’d make a great Girlguiding volunteer! Whether you want to help with a specific event, on a casual or remote basis, or attend regularly; you can be involved in a way that works for you, suiting your skills, interests and availability. 

 
What you'll be doing:

Helping directly with girls in your community, giving them a space to discover their potential – whether that’s at your local groups regular meetings, at one-off events, on trips or adventures! 

The skills and qualities you’ll need:

There are no specific skills required - we welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and experiences. Just bring yourself and your enthusiasm. There’s definitely a role for you at Girlguiding! 
  
What you’ll get:

  • Loads of opportunities to learn new things and build your skills. You’ll have access to training on our learning platform, with webinars, elearnings or in-person sessions near you to choose from you can learn about first aid or delivering adventurous activities. 
  • Safeguarding training to make sure you’re fully equipped and confident to make Girlguiding a safe space for everyone. 
  • The chance to connect with like-minded people in your area and beyond. You’ll be part of WAGGGS, a worldwide movement inspiring girls across over 150 countries. 
  • The satisfaction of helping girls in your community know they can do anything! 

 
What we need from you:

What we need from you depends on the role you choose. For all our roles we’ll ask you to  

  • Provide 2 character references.  
  • Complete our safeguarding training.
  • Complete a criminal record disclosure check

Support and supervision details

All members of Girlguiding are supported both within the unit that they volunteer with, as well as at a city level. Full training and support is available for all of our roles.
