Access the Constitution, Policies and Agreements of Strath Union as agreed democratically by our student members.


The Constitution, made up of the Articles of Association and Schedules, is the governing document of the Students' Association. As such, it rules what can and cannot happen in the Students' Association. As well as this, it gives us our legal status and structures along with all the Committees and the Association's Discipline Code. The Constitution (along with everything else in the Association) is owned by our members – the Students of Strathclyde.

  • Articles of Association

    The Articles of Association sets out the governing structure of Strath Union as agreed by our members. These Articles were approved by the Strath Union General Meeting on 10.2.2022 and approved by University Court on 3.5.2022

  • Schedules

    The Schedules set out the governing rules of Strath Union as agreed by our members.


Strath Union policy is set democratically by University of Strathclyde Strathclyde students. A policy may be passed by Student Parliament, a General Meeting, or a referendum of all students. Policies of particular note, such as the Equal Opportunties Policy, have been highlighted below for easier access.

  • Student Media Policy

    The objective of this Policy is to clarify the editorial procedures, roles and responsibilities for publishing Student Media to mitigate risk to Student Media volunteers, Strath Union, and the University of Strathclyde. It also ensures that Student Media outlets are editorially independent from the Union, but that they operate within the current legal and policy context relevant to the production, publication and dissemination of all forms of media and ensures successful, vibrant and diverse Student Media at Strathclyde

  • Areas of Focus on the Climate Crisis

    This document was submitted on behalf of the Climate Emergency Action Group. These state Strath Union’s positions on the climate crisis and the areas the Union will focus on to combat the climate crisis

  • Equal Opportunities Policy

    The Equal Opportunities Policy sets out the positive actions we take to facilitate the participation of groups discriminated against within society.

  • Fairtrade Policy

    The Fairtrade Policy sets out the work carried out by Strath Union and the University of Strathclyde to support the Fairtrade movement.


Student Experience Agreements have been established between Strath Union and the University of Strathclyde. They set out joint priorities as we seek to improve student life at Strathclyde. They have been developed by the elected Officers and were approved by Student Parliament.
