NUS Student Strike - London Coach Trip

We are organising coach travel to London, where we'll come together with the rest of the student movement for a day of sharing knowledge, celebrating together, and experiencing education as we want to see it.

It’s no secret, we’ve been failed by successive governments. We need to start over, and get it right this time. So let’s take matters into our own hands. Collectively, students, workers and communities are building a new vision for education!  Walk Out of the education that was never built for us, and Teach In to create our own.

We'll depart by coach late on Tuesday the 1st of March from Strath Union at 51 Richmond Street, arriving in London in the morning on March 2nd. There will be some time to freshen up before the NUS Student Strike between 12PM-4PM. After the Strike, there will be some free time before the coach departs London at 9PM - arriving back in Glasgow in the early hours of March 3rd.

Our 57 Seat coach will be filled with Strathclyde students but will also be open to students from other Scottish Universties and Colleges. We're bringing a dream team from Scotland down to the London demonstration to show solidarity and fight for an education system that is fit for purpose!

Tickets for Strathclyde Students will be £5 per student. Tickets for students from other Universities and Colleges will cost £10 per student. A coach from Scotland to London isn't cheap and Strath Union will be subsidising the majority of the cost. 

(OFFICERS FROM OTHER SU's: If any other Student Union/Association wishes to send their Officers on the bus then you should arrange tickets directly with the Strath Union President directly. Please reach out at StrathUnion.President@strath.ac.uk as soon as possible as we have a limited number of seats available!)

Everyone joining us for the journey will be asked to carry out a Lateral Flow Test in advance of travel to minimise the chance of spreading Covid-19. Wearing a mask on public transport is mandatory in Scotland, so please bring a mask with you to wear throughout the journey.

All attendees will be required to fill out a Travel Declartion Form. Once you have purchased a ticket please submit this form to: StrathUnion.President@strath.ac.uk (If we do not recieve this form we will send you a reminder in advance!)
