This is part of the StrathUnion Black History Month Series. The event is a fireside chat with Tim Ugwu his career journey.
Black people are one of the groups that had the highest unemployment rate (8%) compared to their White counterparts (3%) (Gov.UK, 2021). The StrathUnion is working with University Careers Services to increase the employment rate amongst the Black community by promoting available support and inviting guest speakers to share their stories and experience as Black professionals in the UK.
Tim is an alumnus of the University of Strathclyde and an experienced project management professional, working in Electricity Transmission as a Development Project Manager with SSEN Transmission. He has been involved in various capacities, delivering low carbon infrastructure projects across the UK, contributing towards our goal to achieve net zero. He is also a STEM ambassador, engaging the future generation about opportunities within STEM and Electricity Transmission. During his downtime, Tim enjoys spending time with my family and travelling and discovering new places.
