Teams will compete in tracked distance activities to gain points.
Final team scores will be equal to the points earned by the team divided by the number of participants in that group (to account for smaller lab groups, and where everyone doesn’t take part).
Weekly scoreboards will be sent out to our teams, AND to spice things up a little, there will be bonus challenges throughout the games to earn extra points (oooohhhhh).
Participants must record activities on Strava (which is free) by phone or smart watch and be a member of The Lab Games Strava group.
Email ACS@Strath.ac.uk to let us know who’s in your lab team. Teams must be entered and finalised by Sunday 5th July. Start recording activities from 6th July to battle it out.
Winners will receive unlimited glory for the rest of the time and a renowned ACS prize (if you know, you know).
PLEASE NOTE: only GPS tracked activities will count towards this challenge, largely due to the fact there are “cheater cheater pumpkin eaters” (Tex, CJAM Lab, 2026) walking among us.
With the format of The Games, activities uploaded to Strava must be viewable by everyone for distances to be recorded by the committee (i.e. maps of your route will be visible). Strava has functions where you can hide certain areas of a map to avoid showing personal information. If you are concerned or are unfamiliar with using Strava please, contact us and we will help as best as we can.
