A group of students facing each other and laughing, dancing

We run events year-round where you can let loose, let go, just throw a couple shapes and put your skills on show.

What's occurring?

Celebrate Chinese New Year and Burns Night with the Electronic and Electrical Engineering Society - An Evening of food, entertainment and cultural celebration! Join us at 7 pm at Recharge in the Student’s union on 29th January.

When you arrive, you will receive a fortune cookie to predict your future and a free raffle ticket! We will kick the night off with a Chinese style buffet accompanied by a Burns supper of haggis, neeps and tatties. Experience the “Address to the Haggis” and some words to celebrate Robbie Burns as you choose from a wide selection at the buffet.

Dinner will be followed by an extraordinary lion and dragon dance to start the year of the rat in style and bring good luck and fortune to the new year.

We will then continue the Burns celebrations with a traditional ceilidh with the amazing Fiddle Castro Ceilidh Band who will take us through a few jigs and reels. The band will teach you each step so all abilities will leave the night a ceilidh dancing expert!

Once you are tired out from the ceilidh dancing the raffle tickets will be drawn and the prizes given out to the lucky winners.

We hope to see you there!
