About us

The Chinese Queer Society is a student-led community that brings together people interested in Chinese queer lives, cultures, and experiences, both in China and in diaspora contexts.

We aim to create a supportive and inclusive space where members can explore questions of identity, belonging, and community through open discussion, shared readings, and collective reflection. Our activities include regular discussion sessions, reading groups, informal gatherings, and occasional workshops or collaborative projects. The society welcomes both those who identify as LGBTQ+ and those who are interested in learning more about queer perspectives in a Chinese and transnational context. No prior knowledge is required, and participation is always voluntary and flexible.

Our goal is to build a space that is not only safe and welcoming but also thoughtful and engaging, where different experiences can be shared and where community can be imagined and created together.
