Handprints Strathclyde is a fantastic non-profit student-led organisation that design, develop and test 3D printed upper-limb prostheses prototypes. We strive to involve and welcome all students regardless of academic background throughout the design and manufacturing process of fabricating 3D-printed and/or low-cost prostheses for individuals without upper limb(s), whom would not otherwise be able to access such a device.
You will gain valuable skills and experience by working in teams or independently to compete for best designs and ideas that benefit all involved. No prior experience is needed to be a part of our design projects, just the desire and enthusiasm to learn!

Society Constitution
Our society is associated with the global movement of e-NABLE. e-NABLE is a network of passionate volunteers using 3D-printing to give the world a "helping hand". Our aim is to work with the existing e-NABLE community to design, print and test 3D printed prosthetic hands to people who would otherwise not be able to access them. The designs are open-source and donated for use by the talented individuals & engineers who have created them, which can then be used by us to 3D print and assemble the hands for the users. To find out more about the community and vision of e-NABLE, please use the following link: e-NABLE Website
For more information on the origins of e-NABLE and how it has grown in recent years, this is a great video to learn & to be inspired from. If you have the time, we'd recommend watching this!
Giving The World A “Helping Hand”
Our society started in the first few months of 2019, so we are still relatively small but have great plans for the coming year! The majority of our student members came from the department of Biomedical Engineering, however we are open to any students who have an interest in what we are doing. If you are unsure of how you could get involved, please get in touch with us as we would love to hear from you.
Our committee for the coming academic year 2021-22 consists of 6 students. As a new society, these are the primary roles which we feel are important as we establish ourselves as a group. As the need develops, we are likely to develop our committee roles. To find out about what each of the roles involves, follow the link to access the descriptions.
