Welcome to the Strathclyde Quiz Society AKA StrathQuiz. We aim to provide a friendly and not too competitive environment for everyone and anyone interested in quizzing. We aim to run a number of fun quizzes on a very of topics and at different levels of difficulty with a whole load of standard Strathclyde silliness thrown in.
For those who wish to participate, there will be opportunities to compete for Strathclyde against other universities in UK Quiz Bowl Events. Quizbowl is a buzzer quiz. The content and format of the questions are ‘academic’ similar to the TV show ‘University Challenge’ but events range from novice (easier questions) to expert (harder questions). One of our main aims is the increase the diversity of people involved in competitive quizzing in the UK. We hope to work with other societies in the Strathclyde Union to achieve this... Watch this space for events!
For those who don’t wish to participate in competitive quizzing there will be plenty less serious events that we will organise. Ideas and input from everyone are welcome as to any novel or fun events you think we could run in the future.
