The VGS is a free membership society that meets up every Thursday (7:00 pm) at the Strath Union Building 1st Floor, the Society has the Elder Room and Barbour room booked where we plug in the Society's equipment, but we also welcome people to bring along their consoles. Games that we frequently play include Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Tekken 7 and Gang Beasts, but if there is a game you want to be played on the Society's Nintendo Switch/Xbox One, then feel free to bring it with you or ask us, as we may have it already!
Additionally, the Society hosts events outside of our Usual Thursday, be that nights at Summoner's Bar, R-Cade Nights, Game Jams, or Pub Crawls.
On Thursday 14th September at 6pm in the Mandela room we'll be hosting our freshers event: a Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament with prizes, after which we'll be around until 11pm to play more games such as Smash Bros and Mario Party. If you'd like to join or have any questions, please join the VGS Discord Server (link below under contact details) and let us know! Tournament entry is free, just like society membership! The Mandela room is on the 1st floor of the union, it's a left turn the moment you go in the 1st floor entrance before the welcome desk, though you should speak to the people at the welcome desk first before you go left.
We highly recommend joining the Society's Discord where we have an active community within it. If you're looking to chat or just lurk around then feel free to join, it's completely free. There you will also get frequent updates on Society Meetings, Additional Events, and Committee/Union News.
