The post holder will conduct research and support the development of implementation frameworks for two project areas within the Access, Equality and Inclusion Service: Equality, Diversity and Inclusion in the Curriculum and Race Equality.

The University has recently reviewed its process for conducting Equality Impact Assessments (EIAs) on its policies, procedures, projects and activities. To support effective EIA of course and curriculum design, the Equality and Diversity team is seeking to develop a framework to support staff to develop inclusive curricula. The University is also convening a new Race Equality Working Group, which will develop and begin to implement activities to identify and address any barriers to access to education, attainment, employment or career development for Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) students or staff.

Using qualitative and quantitative research methods as well as an exploration of literature and good practice, the post holder will (a) research and help to develop a framework for embedding equality, diversity and inclusion in the curriculum (b) collate data and information to support the identification of priorities for the University’s Race Equality Action Plan.

The post holder will be managed by the Equality and Diversity Manager and based in the Access, Equality and Inclusion Service.
