The Glasgow Academy has a thriving Modern Languages Department with almost all pupils studying a Modern Language to National 5 level and a large number continuing to Higher and Advanced Higher level.
We are seeking to appoint two part-time Language Assistants to support our pupils in developing their skills and confidence in both French and Spanish speaking. This will primarily be through dedicated, one to one lessons or small group sessions to support our classroom teachers, totalling approximately 12 hours per week. This post is offered until the end of May 2021 in the first instance.
We are looking for a native level French speaker and a native level Spanish speaker, both with a strong knowledge of culture and grammar, who can confidently conduct small group and individual French/Spanish conversation lessons and use authentic and up-to-date resources as a stimulus for discussion. You will work closely with, and be supported by, an experienced team of teachers and have the opportunity to teach engaged and enthusiastic pupils from S4 to S6.
If you are interested in either of these remunerated posts please email applications@tga.org.uk, with a copy of your CV, in the first instance.
