The University of Strathclyde’s Centre for Sustainable Development is seeking to employ 2 student interns who will be responsible for undertaking research into degree programmes and modules currently offered by Strathclyde and ascertaining where and to what extent Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) is currently present in curricula.
The post holders will work together and use class catalogues and department records to conduct a ‘mapping exercise’ whereby modules are categorised based on content that aligns with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By mapping SDGs onto courses, the postholders will then create a searchable database and online portal that can be accessed by staff and students.
These internships will take place over summer 2021 for 8 weeks, with flexible start and end dates. Students wishing to apply will have experience in computer information and programming, and a knowledge of sustainable development and the SDGs (desirable, but not essential).
To apply, please email a CV, 300 word personal statement outlining your suitability to the role, and 300 word research plan detailing your vision for the online portal/database to louise.logan@strath.ac.uk by 5pm on 28 June 2021.
Interns will be paid the National Living Wage for the duration of the internship.
