Student Survey Team

Temporary Survey Assistant

This role requires working with survey data in standard office tools, Excel, Word and email. The post holder will be working remotely with the Student Survey Team and be expected to support the Student Survey Team activities during the peak survey period, following existing policies and procedures as appropriate.

Average of 4 hours per week during normal office working hours, with opportunity for flexibility to the profile of working hours over the length of the contract

Work to commence in October and run until the end of November (flexible).

Job Summary

This role requires working with survey data in standard office tools, Excel, Word and email. The post holder will be working remotely with the Student Survey Team and be expected to support the Student Survey Team activities during the peak survey period, following existing policies and procedures as appropriate.

Work Activities:

  • Prepare spreadsheets of survey data for use by departments within the University.
  • Maintain the lists of institutional survey contacts and liaise with contacts to support survey engagement.
  • Monitor and respond to team postal, email and telephone enquiries and redirect to Student Survey Officers and/or Line Manager.
  • Undertake Team administration including the coordination, preparation and distribution of survey marketing materials and mailings.
  • Proactively monitor, develop and coordinate the team’s social media content on Twitter to enhance survey communications and engagement.
  • Other general duties as required

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

  • Competent with MS Office – Word and Excel in particular
  • Ability to work with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills, proven ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently, seeking guidance where needed
  • Proven ability to be punctual and reliable
  • Fast and accurate keyboard skills

Desirable Criteria:

  • Social Marketing experience
  • Familiarity with presentation of large datasets in a digestible format
  • Familiarity with SPSS
