Accounting and tax technician – part time role - with a view to a graduate position in 2023/24

We are a growing accountancy and tax advisory firm looking to expand our team and appoint an accounting tax technician to assist the two partners as we strive to create a dynamic, personable, and bespoke offering to our clients.

Our clients

We have a diverse range of clients. Our core base is made up of small businesses and wealthy individuals, including property and cryptocurrency investors.

We provide recurring accountancy and tax services for our business clients including bookkeeping, Payroll, CIS returns, VAT returns, statutory accounts, and tax returns. For both business and individual clients, we prepare bespoke tax analysis and advice reports.  We also represent clients during HMRC investigations and prepare disclosure reports as required.

The role

  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns
  • Regular payroll processing including pension filings
  • Bookkeeping (cloud software based)
  • Client onboarding; including adherence to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations
  • Scope for reviewing blockchain transactions depending on experience/interests
  • Other administrative tasks including ad hoc communications with clients and HMRC
  • Full training and support will be provided

What you’ll need

  • A desire to start a career in the accountancy and tax profession
  • A conscientious and diligent approach to work
    • Currently studying for or completed an undergraduate degree; or
    • ATT/AAT qualified

What you’ll get

  • £ 13.00/hour
  • Contract for 8-16 hours per week (flexible)
  • Office based (Glasgow) with potential for flexible working following a successful probationary period of 3 months
  • The opportunity of a full-time graduate position in 2023/24 with a training contract to obtain Chartered status (CTA or ACCA)
