Job Duration

Contract will start 1st September 2025 until the Spring Break. Strath Union is closed for the Winter Break so there will be no hours of work for this period.

  • Interviews will be taking place on Tuesday 5th August

 

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Being a welcoming first point of contact when students/visitors enter the Union

  • Responding to enquiries by email, phone, face to face and live chat

  • Ensuring the Union reception area is kept tidy and is welcoming

  • Setting up rooms as required for society/external bookings

  • Supporting occasional evening events for societies, such as being the on-duty fire marshal

  • Facilities/health and safety checks

  • Taking postal deliveries and directing these to the correct department

  • Operating Yodel and Ebay package drop offs and pick ups

  • Operating point of sale for merchandise sales

  • Extra duties when required

  • Full training will be provided

  • 8 hours per week minimum term time contract

  • Must be available in Glasgow to start the role with training from 1st September

     

Person specification:

  • Experience delivering excellent customer service

  • Able to manage competing priorities

  • Able to work alone and with a team

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able to problem solve with a can-do attitude

  • Able to work with Microsoft excel, teams and outlook, and able to learn to work with other software

  • Able to do manual handling to occasionally move packages and furniture

  • Embody Strath Union's values and standards
