We are looking for 3-4 students to join the Strathclyde Green Office.

  • Location: University of Strathclyde
  • Contract: Fixed term, October 2025 – January 2026
  • Hourly Rate: £13.53 (Admin & Professional Services Grade 4 – see University pay scale)

About the Strathclyde Green Office

The Strathclyde Green Office is a student-led, staff-supported sustainability team dedicated to embedding sustainability into everyday university life. Working closely with the Sustainable Strathclyde team and the Centre for Sustainable Development, Green Office members design and deliver activities that inspire climate  action, build community, and support the University’s Annual Sustainability Engagement Plan.

As part of the Green Office Movement (run by Students Organising for Sustainability International), you’ll join a global network of students, staff, and academics advancing sustainability within and beyond higher education.

What You’ll Do

As a member of the Green Office team, you will:

  • Plan and deliver sustainability activities, campaigns, and events on campus (e.g. Climate Cafés, repair workshops, Mend in Public sessions, Dr Bike events)
  • Create and share engaging digital content to promote sustainability via social media, newsletters, and other platforms
  • Recruit, engage, and support volunteers to participate in sustainability initiatives and celebrate their contributions
  • Collaborate with university departments and student groups to integrate sustainability into student life
  • Collect feedback, track engagement, and evaluate the impact of activities
  • Represent student voices on sustainability issues in university-wide meetings and strategic groups

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need to be an expert in sustainability to apply, but we are looking for people who are enthusiastic, proactive, and collaborative.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A passion for sustainability and climate action
  • Experience working in a team and engaging with peers or stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Creativity and initiative in developing ideas and campaigns
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Basic digital skills (Microsoft Office, social media platforms, Canva, CapCut, or similar tools)

Training and support will be provided, along with opportunities for skill development and networking.
