Aims of Internship Project

  • Working alongside Strath Union staff and student representatives to assist with the development, promotion, and delivery of a programme of activity for 16 Days of Action prioritising student voice and co-creation .
  • Enhance student and staff awareness of and engagement in 16 Days and related activities.

Main Activities/Responsibilities

  • Work with Strath Union staff to plan, organise, promote, and deliver an engaging programme of activity around 16 Days
  • Work with students to co-create activities, events and communications for 16 Days that prioritise student voice.
  • Attending regular organising meetings, tracking actions and minute taking.
  • Work closely with Student Engagement staff, alongside the student executive team and elected student representatives.
  • Prepare a final report outlining key activities undertaken and reflection about the internship experience itself.
  • Support the work of the Voice team and other Strath Union campaigns, as required.

Person Specification:

A current undergraduate or postgraduate student at Strathclyde with an interest in, and commitment to gender equality and campaigning against Gender Based Violence (Essential)

Experience of organising and facilitating events online and in person (Desirable)

Experience of presenting information using different media (e.g. videos, infographics etc) (Desirable)

Good verbal communication skills, proven ability to communicate with a wide range of groups and individuals (Essential)

Good written communication skills, proven ability to write documents / reports / emails / social media in a professional manner (Essential)

Strong organisational and planning skills, and proven ability to manage multiple tasks (Essential)

Good time management skills, and proven ability to meet deadlines (Essential)

Ability to work independently and within a team, seeking guidance where needed (Essential)
 

Educational and/or Professional Qualifications
