Flexible – projects generally run on campus 9.30am-2.30pm Tuesday-Thursday during school term time, other dates/times/locations may arise. Please ensure you have some availability during these hours. Shifts allocated monthly according to availability

Successful candidates must pass a satisfactory PVG check plus provide evidence of their right to work in the UK prior to commencing the role.

You will be leading groups of secondary school pupils (ages 14-16) through a series of interactive activities that will allow them to find out more about Higher Education at College and University and will support effective study. Full training will be provided, as well as ongoing development whilst in the role to encourage you to continually reflect on and improve your mentoring practice.

 

Criteria:

· Dynamic and engaging candidates with a passion for Higher Education. Whether your own path to HE has been straightforward or circuitous, sharing your own experience and tips is key.

· Candidates who are friendly and approachable, whilst being able to set and maintain age-appropriate professional boundaries.

· Dedicated candidates who are mature, responsible, and have an aptitude for working with young people from a range of backgrounds.

· Committed team members with strong time management skills and who have a working knowledge of the current Scottish education system.
