Duties & responsibilities

  • Work in a fast paced and exciting front facing service environment  

  • Prepare food & drinks as required 

  • Operate tills 

  • Keep all areas clean & tidy  

  • Contribute to the overall smooth day to day operation of the business through any reasonable means 

  • Contribute to opening and closing of the catering spaces 

  • Contribute to the safe space we have created for both staff and customers 

  • Work as part of a large team to deliver an excellent service to patrons of Strath Union 

  • Commit to a culture of learning and continuous improvement in their role 

  • Have input into the events programme with ideas and suggestions 

  • Extra duties when required

  • Must be available in Glasgow to start the role with induction/training from 24th August. Attendance at induction/training is mandatory. Applicants who do not attend may have their role withdrawn.

  • 4 hours per week minimum term time contract  

Person specification

  • We are not in a position to be able to employ non-Strathclyde students or those graduating in winter 2026

  • Experience delivering excellent customer service & previous Barista experience is essential

  • Able to manage competing priorities

  • Able to work alone and with a team

  • Great communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able to problem solve with a can-do attitude

  • Able to work on your feet for long periods of time

  • Able to do manual handling to be able to move stock and contribute to putting away deliveries
