EDI Observances Intern (Student Engagement)

The EDI Observances Intern (student engagement) will play a key role in enhancing student engagement with the University’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) observances programme.

Key Responsibilities

Student Engagement & Co-Creation

  • Work collaboratively with staff and students to co-design EDI observance events and activities
  • Ensure student perspectives and lived experiences are embedded in programming
  • Engage diverse student groups to broaden participation across observances

Event Support & Delivery

  • Support the planning and delivery of events during EDI observances
  • Assist with event logistics, promotion, and on-the-day coordination

Partnership Development

  • Build and strengthen relationships with:
  • Strath Union and student representatives
  • Third-sector organisations (e.g., community and advocacy groups)
  • Faculties and Student Experience teams

Research, Feedback & Evaluation

  • Gather student feedback (e.g., though surveys, conversations, and engagement activities)
  • Participate in reflection and debriefing after each observance
  • Contribute to evaluation reports assessing the impact of EDI observances

Communications & Promotion

  • Support the promotion of EDI observances through digital and in-person channels
  • Contribute to content creation that raises awareness and encourages student participation
