Based within the Learning and Teaching Building and working directly under the supervision of the International Student Support Team, Registration and Welcome Guides will be at the heart of welcoming new students to the University and helping them navigate university systems to complete registration, answer questions from new students and lead bespoke campus tours.

 

Attendance at the interview and the training session is compulsory and we therefore cannot accept your application if you are unable to attend on these dates.    Unfortunately, we are unable to offer training via ZOOM/MSTeams as this is delivered in a group setting.

Mandatory training: One day between 31 August – 04 September 2026 (TBC)

 

Job Details: 

  • Welcoming new University of Strathclyde students and supporting activities including;
  • Greeting incoming students and help navigating key campus locations
  • Helping students with general questions about the University and Glasgow
  • Actively promoting upcoming University and Strath Union welcome events to encourage participation
  • Guiding and assisting students through the online elements of the University's registration process
  • Providing support to the International Student Journeys service, including escalation of complex queries from students
  • On an ad-hoc basis, leading bespoke tours of the University campus for new students
  • Identifying new students who may require additional support, advising of available University services or escalating as appropriate
  • Undertaking any other duties required to assist with the overall delivery of Welcome and Development Week
