Background
16 Days of Action against Gender Based Violence (GBV) is a key campaign at Strathclyde Students’ Union. For many years, we have been the lead organiser of Fight for the Night, an annual march in solidarity with survivors of Gender Based Violence. The 16 Days intern will assist in delivering an effective campaign and programme of events for 16 Days of Action, including supporting Fight for the Night.
Reporting to the Voice Manager, the intern will carry out research and engage with a range of student groups including Elected Officers, clubs and societies, to shape a programme of activities for 16 Days of Action. They will also conduct a review and report at the end of the internship, with recommendations for future years.

Educational and/or Professional Qualifications
A current undergraduate or postgraduate student at Strathclyde with an interest in, and commitment to gender equality and campaigning against Gender Based Violence.
Essential
Experience of organising and facilitating events online and in person
Desirable
Experience of presenting information using different media (e.g. videos, infographics etc) to reach a range of audiences
Job Related Skills and Achievements
Good verbal communication skills, proven ability to communicate with a wide range of groups and individuals
Good written communication skills, proven ability to write documents / reports / emails / social media in a professional manner
Strong organisational and planning skills, and proven ability to manage multiple tasks
Good time management skills, and proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and within a team, seeking guidance where needed
IT skills including Outlook and Microsoft packages
