Macron Partnership

The University is delighted to announce its partnership with Macron to supply Strathclyde Sport staff uniform, Sports Union teams, and leisurewear, along with clothing for students in Academic sports and physical activity programmes.

Neil Brown, Director of Sport & Active Health at Strathclyde Sport, said on the partnership: “Strathclyde Sport are delighted to be working with Macron to supply our staff uniforms as well as our Sport Clubs apparel.  The philosophy and vision presented was infectious and left no doubt in our mind that Macron were the right partner to meet our needs.  The product quality, sustainability credentials and design and marketing support delivered by Macron, will help shape a distinctly Strathclyde look and feel.  We are also excited to work with Macron to provide a leisure wear retail range for staff and students to wear the University colours with pride!”

On the partnership with the Sports Union, Sports Manager Abby Irvine, added: “The Sports Union is very excited about our new partnership with Macron who will be providing a wide range of apparel for our sports clubs including team wear, club wear and leisurewear. Taking part in sport at University is all about joining a community to enhance University life, as well as add to skills and experience, not to mention the physical and mental health benefits.  Macron has not only the ability to support our kit needs, but to allow us to dream, with exciting design opportunities and great flexibility across our current 48 sports clubs.  We can’t wait to see our clubs kitted out when competing, as well as around campus to display what a thriving community student sport is at Strathclyde."

Feedback from William Richmond, the co-owner of Macron Sports Hub Dundee, commented on the partnership: “It’s a pleasure and a privilege to be working with the University of Strathclyde as the official kit partner to Strathclyde Sport and the Sports Union. Working very closely with the team at Strathclyde over the past few months, we are excited to be able to roll out our unique and bespoke service to the University of Strathclyde community – this service provides the very best of local support from our base in Macron Sports Hub Dundee, combined with the power and resource of the large multi-national force of nature that is Macron. Having witnessed first-hand the incredibly high standards of student sport, community engagement, welfare and inclusion programmes being delivered in the world class Strathclyde Sport facilities, by committed and intuitive personnel – this is a partnership that we value highly and look forward to contributing to and showcasing as the cream of the crop of Scottish student sport."

While Andrea Palilla, UK Country Manager of Macron, said: "It is an honour to be welcoming the University of Strathclyde into the Macron family. The Macron brand continues to blossom in the Scottish University market, and greatly shows the benefits and success of the Macron Sports Hub project and the versatility of the brand. Having met with the Strathclyde team at Macron HQ earlier this year, I am very excited to see our ideas and designs come to fruition and for our newly formed partnership to prosper for many years to come.”
