Nightlife: Bars in Glasgow

As Students night life is quite a big deal! So, here are some clubs, bars and venues around Glasgow and of course some fast-food places to satisfy your munchies after a long night out! Keep an eye out for student dedicated days, which include grand deals and discounts, and for flyers as well!
 

The Terrace

(Glasgow G1 1XN) – Our flagship venue in the new Union building is part sports bar, part hang-out spot. Cheap pints and good times. Be part of it!


Bar Bloc

(117 Bath St, Glasgow G2 2SZ) – Bar Bloc is just a great spot to enjoy both their amazingly cheap daily food deals and a wide range of beers & spirits.


Nice ‘N’ Sleazy

(421 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow G2 3LG) – A popular spot on Sauchiehall street right across the road from The Garage.  Nice’n’Sleazy is a great bar with a range of drinks and a cool place to hang out before or after a gig.


Drygate

(85 Drygate, Glasgow G4 0UT) –  Drygate has an amazing array of beers, located on Duke Street alongside their inhouse brewery. With great company, food, and freshly brewed beer, you are bound to have a good time. 


The Howlin’ Wolf

(100 Bath St, Glasgow G2 2EN) – An American Whiskey Bar and live music venue. Filled with an array of drinks and food, as well as killer live music. Perfect for a chill night out with friends. 


Slouch

(203-205 Bath Street, Glasgow G2 4HZ) – A Rock inspired Bar with comfy leather pouffes and arm chairs and an award winning music venue. With delicious homemade food and incredible “rocknroll” cocktails, it’s a great place for a night out with friends and really wallet friendly considering the amazing quality and taste of the food. 


Hillhead Bookclub

(17 Vinicombe St, Glasgow G12 8SJ) – Hillhead Bookclub is a “student recommended” venue, meaning you can enjoy a host of special student offers on drinks. It is an eccentric and unique space great for a late night with friends.

Tingle

(33 Mitchell St, Glasgow G1 3LN) – The infamous shot bar has had a facelift and now offers cocktails as well as their legendary £1 shots. This is a great spot for pre-drinks before a club night to get the night off to a flying start. 
 

Broadcast

(427 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow G2 3LG) – Offering live music almost everyday and a great cocktail,drink and food selection, Broadcast is a great place to chill with friends. Their staff is also extremely friendly, which makes for an even better experience. 


The Flying Duck

(142 Renfield St, Glasgow G2 3AU) – An underground alternative dive bar in the heart of Glasgow city boasting an untraditional take on the image of veganness as well. They offer a wide range of events from drag karaoke to film screenings. There is something for everyone.


The Locale

(241 North St, Glasgow G3 7DL) – A family run bar with amazing staff and an even better selection of drinks and food. Serving a cosy and chill atmosphere, the Locale is a fantastic destination if you want a relaxed and fun night out with friends. 


Saint Luke’s & The Winged Ox

(17 Bain St, Glasgow G40 2JZ) – An East End staple Saint Luke’s is open 7 days a week and the Winged Ox is just part of what the venue offers. Winning the Scottish Bar of the Year in 2017 this is not one to be missed with an electric atmosphere, friendly vibe and extensive drinks list.


Box Bar

(431 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow G2 3LG) – Another bar located on the iconic Sauchiehall Street Box has the reputation of THE Glasgow grassroots venue for new and up-and-coming artists! Through the window of the bar you can see the stage and with the 3am curfew live entertainment is never too far away for passersby. 

Tabac

(10 Mitchell Ln, Glasgow G1 3NU) – A cocktail bar located in the picturesque Mitchell Lane offering an oasis from the bustling Buchanan Street. A quirky spot for all age groups with a friendly staff and laughs to be had worth checking out!


The Tiki Bar And Kitsch Inn

(214 Bath St, Glasgow G2 4HW) – Bringing an exotic island to Glasgow this bar boasts over 100 different rums offering an escape not to forget. They have fresh draught beer and eclectic soundtrack as well as Foosball and full size shuffleboard for added fun. 


Swing

(183 Hope St, Glasgow G2 2UL) – Another underground bar offering live entertainment all night with a blend of live jazz, funk bands and aerial acrobats. Emulating the atmosphere and elegance of the 1920s and 30s this bar offers a truly mesmerizing experience. 


Inn Deep

(445 Great Western Rd, Glasgow G12 8HH) – Located in the West End, at the banks of the River Kelvin, Inn Deep is a bar with a great view. Enjoy their amazing beers, drinks and food while absorbing the amazing view. Prices and entertainment are also grand!


Kelvingrove Café

Ark Glasgow

(North Frederick Street, Glasgow G1 2BS) – Located right around the corner from the University, the Ark is a standard destination for Strathclyders. Offering a grand selection of food and drinks, as well as massive TV screens and a pool table, you are guaranteed to have a good time. 


Firewater

(341 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow G2 3HW) – A Sauchiehall Street legend Firewater is a deceptively large, underground bar-meets-club venue. Offering drinks at a bargain price attracting a mixed crowd adding to the bustling atmosphere and one-size-fits-all indie playlist. 


Maggie May’s

(60 Trongate, Glasgow G1 5EP) – An incredible Rock Themed bar, with fantastic murals, delicious foods and drinks and great Rock music. Enjoy a burger with a beer on the main floor, or grab your drink and go downstairs for a wee dance party! Prices are great as well. 


Van Winkle

267 Gallowgate, Glasgow G4 0TR) – Great selection of food and drinks, from beers to cocktails, as well as great music. Located in the East End, near Merchant City, Van Winkle is a great hung-out spot.
