Nightlife: Clubs in Glasgow

freshersnews

As Students night life is quite a big deal! So, here are some clubs, bars and venues around Glasgow and of course some fast-food places to satisfy your munchies after a long night out! Keep an eye out for student dedicated days, which include grand deals and discounts, and for flyers as well!

Sub Club

(22 Jamaica St, Glasgow G1 4QD) – An amazing den of underground chaos.  Subbie is one of Glasgow’s most revered clubs and after a thirty year history it’s easy to see why.  You’ll easily find one of your best nights out here.

The Garage

(490 Sauchiehall St, Glasgow G2 3LW) – Another Glasgow classic.  3 venues in one!  All kinds of music, every night of the week.  It’s something special this one and no student experience is complete without a random midweek jaunt to The Garage.

The Cathouse

15 Union St, Glasgow G1 3RB) – The moody sibling of The Garage plays a range of metal, rock and pop-punk over two floors. If you wanna go scream “IT’S NOT A PHASE MOM, IT’S A LIFESTYLE’ this is the one. We’ll join you, it’s ok… trust us.

La Cheetah

(73 Queen St, Glasgow G1 3BZ) – La Cheetah is a pretty great basement club just around the corner from Strath!  La Cheetah’s limited capacity often offers the opportunity to see some of the biggest names in electronic music in an especially intimate environment.

Bamboo

(51 W Regent St, Glasgow G2 2AE) – Pop tunes in two rooms. Bamboo is a Glasgow night out staple.  Not overly much to say here, relatively cheap is always a plus! There are other clubs / bars around this area too if you fancy a bit of a hop around.

The Polo Lounge

(84 Wilson St, Glasgow G1 1UZ) – Officially Scotland’s biggest gay venue and an LGBTQI+ inclusive space. Whether you love to dance or sing along to cheesy pop tunes this is the place for you!

Buff Club

(142 Bath Ln, Glasgow G2 4SQ) – Known for its motto of good people dancing to good music making good memories, Buff Club is well-loved. Spread over two floors this spot is well hidden in one of the famous lanes of Glasgow but not far from the bustling nightlife of Bath Street.
