One of the best ways to have a positive impact on the environment and contribute towards one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals is to consider a career in sustainability. Jobs that have a sustainable focus are more common than people realise and do not only have to involve working in construction, building services or waste management as is often perceived.
Working in the sector could mean working in a corporate role for an environmental or social enterprise company. It could mean working in sustainable finance, or environmental law. It could be less direct by researching companies which have good environmental credentials when applying for graduate roles. Regardless, working in the sector is an important path to consider as in order to create a more sustainable world, we need a talented and committed workforce behind it. And as an emerging field, there are many opportunities to be found in the sector.
