Coronavirus (COVID-19) Information & Resources
Staff within the Sports Union team are working remotely to support committee groups across the network of University of Strathclyde sports clubs. We will use our website and social media platforms to provide information on the resume and restart of sporting activity from the 2020-21 academic year. During August, we undertook a two-stage consultation with members to shape the return of sport on campus. View slides from the recent Club Committee Forum.

We created COVID Development Plans for each sports club and hosted 1:1 meetings with committee groups to leave no stone unturned.

Every sports club at Strathclyde has appointed a COVID Officer to oversee health and safety measures. Online training is delivered by sportscotland.

Committee's have been working to update club safety documentation. We also created new COVID venue risk assessments for Strathclyde Sport & Stepps Playing Fields.

We have developed general club sport guidelines on how we plan to phase the return of clubs and implement social distancing and hygiene measures.

Our approach has been guided at every turn by the University of Strathclyde who manage and operate the campus sport faciltiies used by many of our clubs.
Scottish Student Sport
We have also been working closely with Scottish Student Sport, our national coordinating body, to represent our students at a national level.

virtual sports fair
We have innovated and transitioned a lot of our services and events online, including the annual Sports Fair which will take place on a virtual platform between 15-16 September.
