Learning Support and Resources

University is full of opportunities for volunteering, playing sport for fun or competitively, trying out a new hobby, or getting involved in politics for the first time, but at the end of the day, there’s one thing that unites every student: studying! Luckily, there’s lots of resources out there to help you every step of the way and make sure that you make the most of it and that you run into as few problems as possible throughout your time at Strathclyde.

If at any point you need to quickly leave one of our advice pages, you can hit escape to return to the landing page.

Learner Development Services

The Learner Development Services team work with students, offering advice and guidance to help you to be the best student you can be and to support you in developing the skills you need to navigate through the world of academia.

There's also support to students who need a bit of help or guidance with mathematics that come up in their courses. They aim to support students in developing their maths knowledge and skills, their confidence in applying this and you can get help with topics that you are struggling with or need a refresher on and to get feedback on assessments.

They offer one to one appointments, workshops, and materials that you can access yourself on a range of different topics including:

  • Academic writing
  • Reading and note taking
  • Assessment and feedback
  • Exam preparation
  • Critical analysis

They are a great resource for someone who’s new to study, returning to study after a long break, or who just needs a refresher of their skills.

You can make an appointment by emailing learner-development@strath.ac.uk or visiting their webpage for more information or to arrange and appointment.
