About me

Hello, my name is Nikkie, I am the VP Community! I am from New York and have lived in Glasgow for nearly 3 years! I am a lover of academia - well, Strath for that matter so I have enrolled in two master's programs here! My first year I was part of the Environmental Law program and this past year I enrolled in the MSc for Sustainability! So I am passionate about protecting the environment and uplifting our community!

Beyond Uni I also play for the Strath Women's Rugby team and the West of Scotland Women's Rugby team! In my free time I love exploring new cafes and hanging out with friends. I enjoy cooking and baking for my friends and family.

I adore my (not-so) wee cat Batata and he is my biggest fan <3 I am a dreamer so if you see me tuned into my laptop screen, I am probably planning my next trip or searching for flights! I love learning about cultures and meeting new people, so come find me and let's chat!

My manifesto

  1. Secure the Arts & Culture Pot to remain a dedicated resource to uplift societies/student groups!

  2. Outsource avenues in the community to supplement funds and create additional opportunities for the expression of the Art & Culture scene!

  3. Support groups with proposals & liaison with the University to actively overcome challenges.

  4. Our volunteers are crucial, as such I would like to enhance volunteer benefits and maintain the volunteer discount!

  5. Increase local opportunities, chosen by students to connect and strengthen ties within Glasgow!

  6. Increase networking events to build professional relationships and explore potential career opportunities! By bolstering student affiliation with local companies we can make our community more connected, and our professional career outlook stronger!

  7. Sustainability Pledge

Improve University transparency & divest in Fossil Fuels!
