About me

I am a wee post-grad student from the Canary Islands (Spain). I came to Scotland seven years ago to do my undergrad in Stirling, and here I am in Strathclyde now studying MSc Sustainability and Environmental Studies.

Other things about me I love nature, cycling, having siestas, making big lovely dinners with friends and going on hikes and walks.

My manifesto

  1. Here to Learn, Not to Collapse

I'll push for a more supportive Personal Circumstances System that provides better alternatives than resits or dropping out for those facing hardship. I'll explore the potential of a "Compassionate Curriculum" policy, ensuring student well‐being is considered in academic decisions. Alongside other officers, I'll address key struggles like the cost of living, housing, and student well‐being, aiming to ease pressures on your studies.

  2. More Than Just Student Feedback – Real Action, Real Change

I'll focus on genuine student involvement, promoting a culture of active participation. This includes increasing student representation in academic decision‐making, improving transparency on how feedback leads to change, and ensuring clear communication about decisions that impact students.

  3. Bridging the Gap Between Education and Career Prospects

I'll advocate for practical alternatives to dissertations, such as internships, industry‐linked projects, and clear career guidance from day one. I'll also advocate for interdisciplinary learning, creating more opportunities for students across departments.

  4. Education for Sustainability

I'll support the process of embedding sustainability across all programmes, promote student‐led sustainability projects, and push for dedicated sustainability staff to drive change.
