Strathclyde SU Community Outreach/Networking Opportunity: Climate Heroes

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

In the Climate Heroes initiative, we spotlight individuals who work in areas which reflect the aims of the UNSDGs and use their experience and passion to develop the Learning for Sustainability curriculum in a matched school in Glasgow. Each partner plays a strong influencing role?in?young people’s career choices and is an inspiring?leader?in building the next?generation of the sustainable workforce, creating talent pipeline for their own business at the same time. You can see a selection of existing Climate Heroes and their associated businesses here . We support the Young Person’s Guarantee and Strathclyde SU will become automatically accredited to this scheme if they choose to nominate a Climate Hero.

What is the commitment?

Minimum commitment is an hour per term and a 5-day work experience to 1 pupil. The Ask is very flexible, and the focus is climate action, but how you choose to engage with your school is completely up to you! If you are stuck for ideas, the Representative could simply deliver the Digital Climate Change Learning Package as a resource to fulfil their interactions

Dates for involvement: Ongoing

This opportunity follows the school term, so if you join as a Climate Hero now, it is likely that there would be an action hiatus and that the interactions would commence in the 2022/2023 school year starting in August. If you are interested in supporting, please email us to join our network of Climate Heroes.
